On 23 September, the Commission will open the fourth request period for joint scientific consultations (JSCs) for 2026.
JSCs enable health technology developers to consult on the planning of their health technology and how clinical studies should be conducted to best prepare for a subsequent Joint Clinical Assessment. A health technology can request joint scientific consultations for products that are likely to be subject to joint clinical assessment pursuant to Article 7(1) of HTA regulation.
The submission period is open from 23 September to 21 October 2026 to developers of both medicinal products and medical devices (for medical devices classified as class IIb or III and, in vitro diagnostic medical devices classified as class D).
Developers can apply for the following consultation slots strictly during the request period only:
Requests must be uploaded to the HTA IT Platform by 21 October 2026. When submitting a request, please note that access to the platform can take a few days.
